George Pavlov photoGeorge Pavlov, Chairman of the Board, is a General Partner at Tallwood Venture Capital, where investments are focused on semiconductor industry only. George has extensive experience in venture capital, private equity, operations and technology. Prior to joining Tallwood, George was CEO of eTime Capital, a troubled enterprise software and services company that he restructured to achieve optimal liquidation. Earlier, he was General Partner and Chief Financial Officer of Mayfield, a venture capital fund. Before that, he was the Chief Financial Officer and Managing Director of Blum Capital Partners, a San Francisco-based private equity firm and registered investment advisor. George also held several financial and sales management positions at NeXT Computer, where he prepared industry and company strategic overviews, developed an expanded distribution strategy and managed customer satisfaction programs.

George serves on the boards of directors of Amulaire Thermal Technology, Astute Networks, Audience Inc., Calypto Design Systems, Crossing Automation Inc., M2000 and Quintic Holdings.

George holds a B.S. in Accounting from Boston College.

 

jed_kellerJed Keller, President, CEO and Founder, has 30 years expertise in semiconductor R&D and semiconductor capital equipment. He has an interesting history of motivating companies to look outside the box. Jed's considerable abilities include account management, product management and customer satisfaction responsibilities at Applied Materials, Varian, SVG, PRI Automation, Motorola and Tegal.

He has filed four patents, and launched a new product and manufacturing operation in Israel.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Todd Myhre has 30+ Years of proven business leadership success primarily in the fast-paced Silicon Valley. During the last 17+ years he has provided CEO/COO/CFO and Board of Director leadership, as well as consulting expertise, to early stage through medium sized companies. This experience encompasses both public and private companies in a diversity of industries including advanced digital printing & logistics, semiconductors, semiconductor equipment, software/internet, computers, gaming, and real estate development. Todd currently serves on the Boards of EPAC, a provider of advanced printing and logistics solutions, and Crossing Automation. He is also the CEO/CFO and a Board Member of Clark Associates, a real estate development company. He advises several other small firms.

Prior to his current ventures, he served as CEO and Board Member of GameTech International, a public firm in the entertainment software and gaming industry. Prior to that he was President, COO, CFO and Board Member of Genus, Inc. a public semiconductor equipment company. Previously, he served on the Boards of several other successful companies. Earlier in his career, he provided executive level operational/financial expertise to $B business units of world-class companies such as Intel and HP. He has an MBA and B.S. degree in Business.

 

 

jb_priceDr. JB Price, Board Member and Founder, is VP Engineering and CTO for Crossing Automation. He has significant expertise in memory chip process and semiconductor capital equipment development. Dr. Price has been granted 23 patents during his inventive profession. The most significant is LPCVD of Si3N4, the thin films commonly used in the production of all types of semiconductors.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

jb_priceRobert MacKnight, as president and COO, spearheaded Mattson's operational activities, leading manufacturing and the product groups, in addition to the company's global business operations. He joined Mattson in 2001 as executive vice president of business development and general manager of the RTP Product Business Unit and was quickly promoted to president of the TFE Division. In late 2002, MacKnight was promoted to the position of COO. Prior to joining Mattson, MacKnight spent three and a half years at Microbar, Inc., where he was president and chief operating officer. Prior to Microbar, MacKnight was vice president and general manager of After Market Operations for Cymer, Inc. He has also held senior management positions with Watkins-Johnson Semiconductor Equipment Group and Eaton Corporation and has founded two startup ventures. MacKnight holds bachelor and master’s degrees from the University of Massachusetts

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Laura Oliphant, PhD Investment Manager, Intel Capital

Areas of expertise: venture investing, process technology

Laura Oliphant is a Investment Manager in Intel Capital, where she makes and manages investments in the semiconductor capital equipment and materials areas. She joined Intel in 1991 and Intel Capital in 2001. In 2006, Laura was given the Intel Achievement Award for the strategic impact of her investing activities.

Prior to joining Intel Capital, Laura was one of the key coordinators for Intel's transition to the 300 mm wafer size. As part of this project, Laura managed the selection activities for about 20% of the fab tools, which required her to interact with the key executives of the major equipment suppliers. In 2000, Laura served as the industry co-chair for the SEMATECH Metrology and Yield Management Tools Program Advisory Group. Laura also played key roles in the Year 2000 transition and in the management of major suppliers to Intel.

Laura joined Intel in 1991 as a Process Engineer, where she developed a lithography technology that is currently used in Intel's mobile processors. While in the Technology Development group, she also was a yield engineer.

Laura holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a BE from Manhattan College.

 

 

lon_allen_photoLionel M. (Lon) Allan, Board Observer, has served as an independent director and corporate governance and legal advisor since 1992, following a 20-plus year career as a corporate and securities lawyer in Silicon Valley .

Lon has been an outside director on the boards of a number of companies, including: NetLogic Microsystems, Inc. (Chair, Governance Committee); Catalyst Semiconductor, Inc. (Chair, Governance Committee; Chair, Compensation Committee); Galvantech, Inc.; Global Motorsport Group, Inc. (Vice Chair of the Board; Chair, Audit Committee); Accom, Inc. (Chair, Audit Committee); Louth Automation, Inc. and Groth Vineyards and Winery. He has also been active on the boards of various professional, philanthropic and civic organizations, including the Northern California chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (Chair of the Board); The Harker School (Chair of the Board); KTEH Public Television Channel 54 (Chair of the Board); Villa Montalvo (President of the Board); the Silicon Valley Chapter of the AeA, formerly the American Electronics Association (Legal Consultant to the Executive Committee); the American Bar Association (Chair, Small Business Committee); and the Board of Visitors at Stanford Law School.

In addition to board service, Lon has been a lecturer on corporate governance issues at the Haas Business School at U.C. Berkeley; the National Association of Corporate Directors; IRRC; the VC Task Force; and Stanford Directors’ College. He has also presented lectures on corporate and securities issues at the American Bar Association and the State Bar of California, and has had articles published by Prentice-Hall Corporation Service, the California Continuing Education of the Bar and Mathew Bender & Co.

Lon Allan received his J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1968 and his A.B. from the University of Michigan in 1965. In 1969-70, he was Law Clerk to Chief Judge Robert Peckham of the United States District Court in San Francisco .
